May, 2008 evo nas....evo, nismo še mrtvi, niste me še frej :) zdejle sem se spomnu da bi lahko uplodal oz. napisal sem gor moj spis k sm ga mogu napisat za anglo, naslov naj bi bil My week ali pa po izbiri tako torej jest sem zbral Pustni teden v Butalah ker pač smo Butalci :) napisan je z nekaj napakami ampk je kr ured :)
Shrovetide week in Butale
As evry year we also celebrated this year shrovetide in Butale. Shrovetide in Butale starts
alreday on „fat Thursday“ with „sawing of hag“ („žaganje babe“). This is day when Cerknica
mayor give keys of municipality to Butale mayor. That Cerknica change to Butale all to Wednesday
to burial of shrovetide. In that time are happening a lot of different activites.
On Friday is session of Butale county assembly, where Butale people gets oneself together
and discussed what happend from previous assembly. Usualy we also can watch that on TV on
Chanel 13, TV Čohovo. On Saturday is also shrovetide for kids and at night starts a lot of various
dances in masks with live music. Largest events in Butale happens on Sunday – shrovetid carnival
with beginning exactly arround 12.32 p.m., which people comes from near and far to watch our
famous carnival. On carnival comes most differently invited masks. Evry year comes to arround
1000 roaming masks. Of course we have own famous masks on which we are very proud. For sure
is most recognizable and oldest is Mother Uršula and her daughter Liza, which togherher with
others younger and smaller witches come from top of Slivnica where are home. We have also own
dragon, and "hribce", also we care for security, so we have own police officers and fireman,
also known as Anti wojgn department. From Vrh at Sveta Trojica also comes Martin Krpan. From
Cerknica lake come gigant pike and of course water man. Carnival takes roughly two hours, then
coupling contineus to morning hours.
Days of party in Butale are ended on Wednesday. People gets together against at 4.00 p.m.
on House of sadness where procescion go to bridge of stream Cerkniščica. After completed speech
we burn shrovetide and then push over bridge to stream, where the last remianders blows away to
lake. Glory him! In the evening once again happen various dances, because this is the last day in Butale.
